When its not your fault !

You are thought to be gulity, accused when its not your fault. How would you feel?
When only you know you are innocent, but the rest of the world doesn't. How would you feel?
When you are being penalized for the mistake you have not commited. How would you feel?

And, most importantly, when you know that you can stand against the punishment but you cannot change the minds and attitutes of the people, who assume you to be the culprit-the dirty fellow. How would you feel then?

Depressed?
Tensed?
Pain?
Agony?
Frustration?
or...something far more terrible !

Think.

Chandni Raatein

Chandni raatein,
Sab jag soye, hum jaagein,
taaron se karein baatein;
Chandni raatein...

Vacations are going on. So, masti chalu hai. Vaise agar vacations na bhi ho toh bhi masti hi chalti hai apni toh ;) We have 4 days of holidays, ghar jane mein 30 hours lagte hain. So, main ghar tho ja nahi sakta tha. So, I came here to Gurgaon with pie. Uske yahan hi ruka huaa hun, khub paka raha hun saale ko abhi.

Delhi(Gurgon) mein toh bahut garmi hai abhi. Security bhi kafi tight hai, since independence day is coming. Movies dekhne ka plan banaya hai, shaam ko jayenge shayad. Lets see.

Pramod Bhaiya's Wedding

Just returned from 'Dhigsara'(My buaa's village). It was Pramod Bhaiya's wedding. Finally. Barat 'Kacharkona'(another village nearby) gayi thi. Normally, weddings take place in the night but this one was different, this wedding took place in the day. Since, the monsoon has already come, so we were afraid that the rain might disturb the whole proceedings. But, luckily, puri shaadi mein baarish nahi hui. And, every thing happened nicely.

Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna

(My Mouthshut.com review on KANK, you can read that one here too- http://www.mouthshut.com/review/Kabhi_Alvida_Na_Kehna_Album-103980-1.html)

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.(mega-hit)

Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham(Mega-hit again)

Kal Ho Naa Ho.(Mega-hit again)

Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.( ??? + Mammoth High Expectations)

Well, well, well. Finally, after quite a some time, Karan Johar is BACK. Expectations are always very high from his movies, and KANK is a no exception to this. Music has been the soul of his movies, so its obvious to wait so eagerly for KANK album too!

Music : Shankar Ehsaan Loy

Lyrics : Javed Akhtar

There are seven songs(5 songs actually + 1 remix + 1 instrumental theme)in the album. Lets feel them one by one.

____________________________

1. Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna

SINGERS: Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik

PAST: This song (as is expected) is inspired by Kal Ho Naa Ho-Title track. The basic beats of the song, Sonu's renderation, the tempo of the song...everything reminds you of the KHNH's majestic title track.

PRESENT: Despite having few similarities, this song is a fundoo! number. VERY SOULFUL, VERY TOUCHING. SEL(read:Shankar Ehsaan Loy), has weaved Jaaved Akhtar's beautiful words brilliantly. You would not expect a sad song to be title track of the movie, but this song is so soothing that it is surely up to the expectations!

FUTURE: This is a sure-shot hit! I can bet on that. And, let me tell you that like KHNH, this song is going to be remembered for a very long time.

RATING: 4.5/5

____________________________

2. Mitwa

SINGERS: Caralisa, Shafaqat Amanat Ali, Shankar Mahadevan

PAST: .....Nothing. This one is as fresh as a cool sea breeze.

PRESENT: Now-a-days, it has become a very common trend that Pakistani or Bangladeshi singers are singing in bollywood movies. Shafaqat Amanat Ali(Fusion! band fame) has got his chance this time and his luck has hit bang on target, by getting such a lovely song. A well paced song, which have the added advantage of beautiful guitar work and indian instruments. It also has a remix version of it, Mitwa revisited, which is going to rule the discos for sure.

FUTURE: Block-buster of 2006. This song is certainly going to top the charts.

RATING: 5/5
____________________________

3. Where's The Party Tonight

SINGERS: Shaan, Vasundhara Das

PAST: Inspired by 'Its The Time To Disco'. Same theme, same singers but different song!

PRESENT: A rocking song, surely aimed for the discos etc. Very well written, very well crafted by SEL and equally well sang by Shaan and Vasundhara. Western instruments also tend to give it a next-genre-feel. Nice song.

FUTURE: Will not be able to match 'Its the time to disco' status.

RATING: 3.5/5

____________________________

4. Tumhi Dekho Naa

SINGERS: Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik
PAST: 'Kuch Toh Hua Hai' feel. But, way better than that.

PRESENT: A soothing melody, this song goes straight into the heart. Sonu and Alka, again proves their metal at soft romantic numbers. Though the lyrics are pretty ordinary but this song hold your attention. A prayer for lovers...go for it.

FUTURE: Will not be a chart-topper. But, can go upto great heights.

RATING: 3.5/4

____________________________

5. Rock'n Roll Soniye

SINGERS: Shankar Mahadevan, Shaan, Mahalaxmi Aiyer

PAST: The 'dhol' and other musical instruments, reminds of 'Pretty Woman'. But, except that, this song is quite an original one.

PRESENT: Nice blend of western instruments(Rock'n Roll tunes) and melodious Indian traditional music. One or two lines of old song(like Sar Pe Topi Lal Haath Mein Resham Ka Roomal etc) in between, proves to be added advantage for its melody-value.

FUTURE: This song is going to rule discos/parties/lounge etc. With good publicity, 'Rock'n Roll Soniye' can achieve the feat achieved by 'Kajra Re'.

RATING: 5/5

(when I heard this song for the first time, I gave it a rating of 3.5, after listening to it for 2-3 days, the rating went to 4, then 4.5, and, finally NOW after 4-5 days...this song has become my favourite song of the album after Mitwa and KANK(Hey, wait! may be after 2-3 more days, this song will overcome them, who knows? :).

Overall, its a brilliant album. Great music, OK lyrics, Beautiful singing + the Karan Johar X-Effect. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!

Marble Rocks

Visited Bhedaghat(Marble Rocks) yesterday, with Kakku, Ashish and Mamaji. It was a nice experience, this was the first time I went there on my bike. We bathed in the river Narmada. The water fall was as always beautiful. Though, it was less terrifying this time. May be because the water was less, or may be because my point-of-view-of-seeing-things is changed(or matured! u can say).

Well...abhi toh kuch naya nahi hai life mein. #C classes are going on. MP-PET ke liye toh padhna hi band kar diya hai ab, 'coz my JUIT is almost final. Lets see !

p.s. - Saw a beautiful sight yesterday while bathing in the river Narmada. Hope to write some story on it, keep waiting !

Today: Went #C coaching at 5:00 PM. Ankush dikha tha wahan par. Shaam ko Onu se mila. Went to Mandir also. Then we went to Chowpati. Kal Prateek ke Bhaiya ki shaadi hai, wahan jaana hai. Saw Brazil-Australia Fifa WC match. Brazil won 2:0. Nice match.

Victory is delicious

Imagine this. A cricket match. A local school ground. 8 players(4 on each side). 8 Over match. A perfect example of gali cricket !

First team comes to bat. Scores 35 runs. In between, a batsman hits the ball, a fielder dives for it, gets injured badly. His palms get small cuts and starts bleeding a bit. But, the show goes on. Then this fielder bowls. He bowls 2 overs, gives 6 runs and claims a wicket. Then comes the second team to bat. Opener batsman scores 22 runs. 3 out of 4 batsman gets out for a score of 26. Now, 12 balls are remaining and 10 runs are to be made. The injured player comes to bat. He cannot even hold the bat properly since his palms have cuts and while playing strokes, the contact with the bat's grip was worsening the pain. He bats. After an over, the statistics read: 6 balls to go, 5 runs to be made. He makes 3 runs out of first 3 balls. 4th and 5th balls of the over were dot balls. LAST BALL TO GO, 2 RUNS TO BE MADE. Every fielder comes close. Bowler balls the delivery, and this batsman hits the ball over mid-off fielder's head for 2 runs. VICTORY !!! How soothing.

And, can you guess, who the injured player was.

YES !!!
IT WAS ME !!!

I'll miss u

So, Finally...
I am taking admission at JUIT-Waknaghat. Counselling is on 29th June.
I'll be leaving on 27th for counselling and then the session starts from 24th July.

A new world is awaiting for me, the world called college-life...lets see !

From very long I've dreamt of it. Like, how my college life would be ? et cetera. And, now that dream is turning out into a reality. I am not at all sentimental about it, but phir bhi !

Ab toh chinta hone lagi hai, ki mere dost yahin chhut jaayenge. Yeh sahi hai ki naye dost bhi banege, lekin aap doston ko compare toh nahin kar sakte na ! Meri yahan ki life bhi koi itni fairy-tale life nahi thi, joh mujhe iska zada dukh ho. Still, I'll miss it. The thing I'll miss the most is certainly......Oops, sorry can't name it. Ha ha !

Life's going smooth. Aaj baarish ho rahi thi. Main, Anurag, Nishant, Utkarsh, Pallav, Suprit aur Prateek; we planned to play cricekt at MLB ground. We played 2 games and then we played football. Though I don't know much about football, still...I thought to give it a hand(read:legs). We won 7-3. Bahut mazaa aaya.

My Mouthshut.com review on SWAMI RAMDEV

SWAMI RAMDEV

Few Facts

What is Yoga ?
Does it really work ?
Oh..come on, its an old practice, isn't it ?
Only Grand-Pas do it !
I cannot do those tough Asans !

I am also the one from the bunch of you people. I also had similar views, similar questions. I also pin-pointed to every single Sadhu-Mahatma out there which are making money out of people's faith and devotion(Infact I still have same feelings for all the frauds out there...). I also considered it old fashioned. BUT, my views changed when I started doing it. My views changed when I saw millions of people getting its miraculous advantage. My views changed when I saw people arising out of their death-beds and living a healthy life.(who had no hope left according to modern medical science!)

Introduction

Yoga is a science. Yes, believe it or not...it is the fact. I am not going to 'bore' you people by telling the long-old-classic definition of Yoga. For us simple people, Yoga is just a tool to be FIT and HEALTHY. Now, how does this work ? What does it contain ?For centuries, people had in mind the fact that, Yoga is something special. It is not for us. BUT, BUT, BUT...........Thanx to one man called Swami Ramdev who made Yoga and Pranayam a household name. Yoga does not mean those gruelling Asans only.

What does he teach ?

Swami Ji's main emphasis is on Pranayams. Pranayams are breathing excercises that anybody can easily do. His main pranayams include 'Kapaal-bhati' and 'Anulom-vilom' pranayam. Beside this, he teaches very few basic asans also - the easier ones. He tells you about the desi medicines which you can have at your home. Most of you must have seen people rubbing there nails, its an excercise which prevents hair-loss.

What are the BENEFITS ?

Hold your breadth now, because, I am now going to list the diseases which can be cured by Yoga. Here, we go...

1. Cancer
2. Hepatitis-B
3. Heart Diseases
4. Asthma
5. Diabetes
6. Migraine
7. Epilepsy
8. Bronchitis
9. Jaundice
10. Slipped-Disc
11. Paralysis
12. Ulcer
13. RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS
14. Weight loss
15. Stomach Problems
16. Low/High BP
17. Cervical
18. spondylitis
19. sciatica
20. spinal problems
21. sinus
22. Hair Fall
23. Skin Problems
24. Eye Problems
25. Ear Problems
26. Pregnancy related disorders

.......blah.....blah......blah...... list is endless..........
I can bet you would have not even heard of half the diseases mentioned here(unless, you are a doctor!). Apart from this, if you are not suffering from any diseases, then Yoga ensures that you remain fit and healthy, ALWAYS !

The Most Important thing

CONSISTENCY. People start Yoga, do it for a few days or so and then leave it. And, can you guess the bahana every second person gives, 'time nahin milta yaar'. Well, it is the most important thing, you have to do it REGULARLY. Just half-an-hour(atleast!) a day, is NOTHING in compared to what you'll get in return.

Second thing, do these pranayams only when your stomach is empty. Almost after 4-5 hours of your diet.

Few Quick FAQs

Q. How do I learn these pranayams?
A. The best way is to attend a week long Yoga-Science-Camp. You can find more information for the camps at www.divyayoga.com. Another way is, you can learn it by watching it on Television -Astha Channel, every morning 6:00 AM and every evening 8:00 PM. Many other channels also show swamiji's programmes. And the easiest way is to learn from any person who knows it, and finding such persons becomes a much easier options when almost 20 Crore people of India are doing these Pranayams.

Q. How much this cost?
A. It does not cost even a single penny. Afterall, who can charge you for breathing. It is true that Swamiji's camp has a nominal fees of 500/- to 1500/- something(for a week, normally), which is also a very cheap option, compared to lakhs of rupees being spent on allopathic medicines. Beside this there's donation which is absolutely on your choice.

Q. There are so many frauds these days, how do I trust this so called Mr. Swami Ramdev?
A. Swamiji himself say, 'If you don't want to trust me, you are free to do so, BUT, just do these pranayams yourself and see the difference'(People have seen the difference in as short as 3 hours, when they have lost atleast 1-2 Kgs of weight in this short time).

So, I strongly recommend Swami Ramdev to everybody- kids to teenagers to adults to elder people to everybody else. Miracles have happened to people doing these pranayams. Its your chance now, don't remain seated there and point your fingers to me, to Swami Ramdev or to any other babas....JUST DO YOURSELF AND SEE THE DIFFERENCE.

Saansein

Is desh ki ragon mein,
khoi saansein basti hain...

Woh saansein joh zinda thi kabhi,
Josh se bhari, junoon se bhari,
Jinme thi aag, jinme dahakte they sholay kabhi,
Joh chalti thi kabhi, joh machalti thi kabhi !

Aaj woh saansein haanf rahi hain,
kisi ghabraaye huye bachche ki tarah kaanp rahi hain...
Aaj woh saansein khoi maloom padti hain,
waqt ki chadar odhe soi maloom padti hain...

Un saanson ko ab jagana hai,
Ek aag aur sulgana hai,
Waqt ki deemak ne khokla kar diya jinhe,
Unmein ZINDAGI ka deepak jalana hai,
Zindagi ka deepak jalana hai...

GANGSTER : Movie Review

I did not have any expectations from this movie ... BUT ! when its music got released(and became a smash hit), my opinions started to change. I thought, OK- it may be one of those movies which have good songs but a poor script(So what, if the movie is from Bhatt camp, they also give flops). But, no ! I was wrong. Movie got released and positive reviews began to flood in. I made my mind to watch it and BANG !

What a brilliant movie it was. I loved it.

So, read the review, if you have not made your mind to watch the movie, GO SOON !

THE TEAM :

Cast

Akash : Emraan Hashmi
Simran : Kangana Ranaut
Daya : Roshan 'Shiny' Ahuja

Crew

Director : Anurag Basu
Producer : Mukesh Bhatt
Story : Mahesh Bhatt
Screenplay : Anurag Basu
Dialogues : Girish Dhamija

Music

Lyrics : Sayeed Qadri, Mayur Puri, Nilesh Mishra
Music : Pritam Chakraborty

STORY :

(Caution : Here, story is revealed in detail. This will certainly ruin a bit of your joy of watching the movie. So, YOU CAN SKIP THIS SEGMENT IF YOU WANT TO !)

So, you are not going to listen to me :) OK, enjoy then !

Daya is a GANGSTER. His love interest is Simran. He is always on the run from Police. To ensure the safety of Simran, he sends her to Seoul(South Korea). There Simran gets pretty alone as Daya calls her once in a week. Simran begins to feel very lonely and she becomes a drunkard. Then, she meets Akash - a simple, sweet, good looking guy- who sings in an Indian Restaurent there. Akash falls in love with Simran and so does she. When things were just looking to calm down for Simran, Daya comes to Seoul and find out about her girl-friend's new affair. He beats up Akash. Simran tells him that she does not love him (though she loves him). She says that she does not want to be with a GANGSTER. Daya says that he is ready to lead a normal life, he demands one last chance. Simran starts to live with Daya, and Daya becomes a decent man. Its then, when Simran realizes that she's pregnant (Courtesy Akash:) She meets him, Akash persuades her to help the Police to catch Daya. Simran falls for the trick and she betrayes Daya(Remember, the tag line of the movie, 'She fell in love with him, the day she betrayed him'). Daya is caught by the Police. Simran then finds out that Akash is actually a Police-man who was just using her to catch Daya. Simran begins to feel guilty. Meanwhile Daya gets Death Penalty. Simran goes to Akash's house and shoots him. In the shoot out, she also gets hurt. And, in the end...

Everybody dies !

(See, I had already warned you - Now, don't blame me, that I've told EVERYTHING )

ANALYSIS :

First of all- it is not a dark-gangster story, its a love story. And that too - a very different one. GANGSTER is a story about a girl who is torn between 2 relationships. The story, screenplay and dialogues are very well written. But, most importantly, the whole credit goes to Anurag Basu who has steered the ship very well. Film's start is a bit shaky, but once you get the hold of the story (that is almost after half an hour), its a roller-coaster ride ! Interval Point, second half both are just brilliant. Its the pace of the story, the twists'n turns which holds your breath. The sign of a good movie is that you cannot predict, what's going to happen next - GANGSTER definitely has that extra-edge !

PERFORMANCE :

Shiny Ahuja(Daya) is best, then comes Emraan Hashmi(Akash) and then the new girl Kangana(Simran). Director Anurag Basu has done a great job by extracting a great performance by all the 3 lead actors. Gulshan Grover in a small role is effective and leaves his presence. Debutant Kangana certainly has the looks but she needs to work more on her dialogue-delivery. Emraan is improving with every film, but the SERIAL-KISSER tag is still with him :)

MUSIC :

One of the most important aspect of the movie is its music. Pritam has done a wonderful job-Music of the film is already a smash hit. All the songs goes very well with the movie, every song has story running through it. And, offcourse, how can we forget some great lyrics by Sayeed Qadri, Mayur Puri and Nilesh Mishra.

RATING : (on a scale of 1-5)

Story - 3.5
Direction - 4
Performance - 3.5
Music - 4.5
Overall - 3.5

CONCLUSION :

A complete Paisa-Vasool.
Go for it, guys !!!
